Report from Andi: June 20, 2013 – I’m in Idaho for the American Penstemon Society meeting, which starts on June 21, 2013.  Paul Blischak is also here, and is in the early days of his field season to collect species of Penstemon sect. Penstemon, subsect. Proceri.

After I arrived in Boise, Paul met me at the conference hotel. We headed for the field in the late afternoon – just a short loop north of Boise. Daylight lasts until nearly 10 pm, so we had about six hours of light with which to work. The scenery is spectacular, and we found five or six species of Penstemon along the route we took.
